Here's what's new in 99 Nights in the Forest, and what's coming next. The developers push updates roughly every two to three weeks.

Latest update: Kids Have Jobs (August 8, 2026)

The big change: all the missing children can now work for food, not just Dino Kid.

  • Kraken Kid can fish.
  • Squid Kid cooks food.
  • Koala Kid "scavenges" for scrap — she conjures it out of thin air, so you don't need scrap in your world.

Every kid now has their own lunchbox, toy, and plush that can be found around the map, just like Dino Kid. They go into your inventory but don't stack.

New badges:

  • Kraken Daycare — level Kraken Kid to level 5
  • Squid Daycare — level Squid Kid to level 5
  • Koala Daycare — level Koala Kid to level 5

Next update: August 22, 2026

The in-game countdown points to August 22, 2026 as the next update. We'll update this page the moment it drops.
